Three ways to think about percentages
"What is X% of Y" answers questions like working out a discount or a tip — for example, 20% of ₹250. "X is what % of Y" flips it around, telling you what proportion one number represents of another, useful for things like exam scores or completion rates.
"Percentage change from X to Y" shows how much a value has increased or decreased, expressed as a percentage of the original — handy for tracking price changes, salary increments, or growth over time. A positive result means an increase; a negative result means a decrease.
